📌 Accessibility Audit for Five Hospitals in Bungoma County
BELIEVE Project – Bungoma Enhancing Localised Inclusive Efficient Vision Engagement

1. Overview

IcFEM Mission, in partnership with CBM Global Disability Inclusion, invites qualified consultants to submit proposals to conduct a comprehensive accessibility audit of five hospitals in Bungoma County under the BELIEVE Project. The audit will assess the physical, communication, institutional, and attitudinal accessibility of the hospitals to support more inclusive, disability-responsive eye health services.

2. Assignment Purpose

The consultancy will identify barriers affecting persons with disabilities and provide practical, costed recommendations to strengthen inclusive service delivery. The assignment will also include awareness and capacity building for hospital leadership and County Health stakeholders on Universal Design and accessibility principles.

3. Audit Locations

• Kapsokwony Sub-County Hospital
• Cheptais Sub-County Hospital

4. Key Tasks

• Conduct full accessibility audits across the five facilities.
• Review policies, procedures, physical environments, communication systems, and service practices.
• Facilitate capacity-building sessions on Universal Design for hospital and county management teams.
• Produce individual facility audit reports and a consolidated summary report with costed recommendations.
• Present key findings to IcFEM Mission, CBM Global, and County Health stakeholders.

5. Expected Deliverables

• Inception report and audit tools
• Five detailed facility audit reports
• Consolidated summary report (Word & PDF)
• Final presentation of findings

📌 Marketing Officer – Closed

Qualification/Requirement

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communication, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years’ proven experience in marketing, community outreach, or customer engagement — preferably in a healthcare or NGO environment.
• Strategic & Planning Skills: Demonstrated ability to design and implement marketing plans that drive service growth.
• Community Engagement: Experience organizing community events, medical camps, or outreach programs, with strong networking and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Brand & Promotion Expertise: Proven competence in managing branding, print production, and distribution of promotional materials.
• Customer Service & Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle customer inquiries professionally via hotline, WhatsApp, and social media.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work closely with BD&PM, Digital Media & PR Officers to ensure unified messaging and effective cross-team coordination.
• Analytical Skills: Capable of conducting market research, competitor analysis, and translating findings into actionable insights.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with marketing software or CRM tools; working knowledge of digital marketing principles is essential.
• Personal Attributes: Creative, organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple assignments under minimal supervision.
• Faith & Integrity: Strong commitment to Christian values, ethical marketing, and the mission of community transformation.
• Must provide a recommendation letter from your religious leader, who should be one of your referees.

Duties and Responsibilitie

Role Summary:

The Marketing Officer will lead IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital’s marketing and community engagement initiatives, ensuring the hospital’s services are well-promoted and its brand presence remains strong and consistent. Working closely with the Business development & Partnerships Manager and Digital Media Officer, the Marketing Officer will coordinate field marketing activities, branding, customer engagement, and ensure a seamless flow of communication across all marketing channels — including the marketing hotline, social media inboxes, and WhatsApp. This position calls for a creative, organized, and service-oriented professional who is passionate about community transformation through healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement marketing strategies and annual action plans to promote hospital services.
• Coordinate community-based marketing activities such as medical camps, health talks, exhibitions, open days, and stakeholder forums.
• Manage the design, production, and distribution of branding and promotional materials (brochures, posters, signage, banners, and branded merchandise).
• Maintain effective and timely communication through the marketing hotline, social media messages, and WhatsApp platforms.
• Work collaboratively with the Digital Media Officer to align offline marketing with digital campaigns.
• Work with the Business development & Partnerships Manager in coordinating in hospital events, communications, and documentation.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and patient feedback surveys to inform strategic marketing decisions.
• Build and sustain partnerships with all stakeholders including churches, schools, government offices, businesses and local media outlets.
• Monitor and evaluate marketing activities, preparing monthly and quarterly reports on performance and impact.
• Uphold the IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital brand identity, ensuring all marketing reflects Christian values and high ethical standards.

📌 Optometrist – Closed

Qualification/Requirement

• Diploma in Optometry or Vision Science from a recognized institution
• Registration and valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Opticians Board of Kenya
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Duties and Responsibilitie

• Conduct visual acuity and refraction tests to determine refractive errors Prescribe and fit corrective lenses such as spectacles and contact lenses
• Detect and manage common eye conditions and refer complicated cases to ophthalmologists
• Provide advice on visual hygiene, lighting, and eye protection
• Participate in hospital outreach, school and community vision screening programs
• Maintain accurate patient records and prepare reports
• Ensure cleanliness, calibration, and proper use of optometric equipment
• Provide health education and counselling on preventive eye care
• Assist in training lower-level staff and interns in optometry procedures
• Collaborating with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals in patient management.
• Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
• Be able to produce a minimum of two Recommendation letters from your supervisor and your religious leader who should be part of the referees..

📌 Radiographer – Closed

• Diploma or Degree in Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences from a recognized institution.
• Registration and a valid practicing license from the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
• Proficiency in operating modern imaging equipment and software
• At least two years working in a busy radiology and imaging department
• Must be registered by the Kenya nuclear regulatory authority
• Must have a current and valid practicing license
• Customer focused and always willing to go the extra mile.
