Healthcare remains a key pillar of the IcFEM Mission and an important avenue through which we serve communities and demonstrate God’s love in action. This commitment was reaffirmed through our participation in the Bungoma County Health and Sanitation Partnership Summit, held at Hunters Paradise and organized by the County Department of Health and Sanitation under the theme:
“Strengthening Partnerships, Harmonization, and Accountability to Improve Health Outcomes in Bungoma County.”
The summit brought together government leaders, development partners, healthcare institutions, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders, providing us with an important opportunity to engage, learn, and strengthen collaborative efforts aimed at improving healthcare service delivery across Bungoma County.
Day One: Strengthening Collaboration for Better Healthcare
Our Director, Mr. Solomon Nabie, represented IcFEM Mission at the summit following an invitation from the County Department of Health and Sanitation.
Discussions on the first day focused on strengthening collaboration among health sector stakeholders and identifying opportunities for greater synergy in addressing healthcare challenges facing communities across the county.
As an organization committed to transforming lives through quality healthcare and community development, we value partnerships that enhance service delivery and expand access to essential health services.
Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital and the County Government of Bungoma, significant progress has been made in healthcare delivery. One notable area of impact has been in comprehensive eye care services through our partnership with CBM Global under the Believe Project. This collaboration continues to improve access to quality eye care services and transform lives across Bungoma County and beyond.
For us, the summit provided an important platform for sharing experiences, strengthening partnerships, and exploring innovative approaches to improving healthcare outcomes for the people of Bungoma.
Day Two: Advancing Sustainable Partnerships
On the second day of the summit, we were honored when our Director, Mr. Solomon Nabie, was invited to speak on behalf of the Bungoma Health Sector Partners.
In his presentation, Mr. Nabie highlighted three critical pillars for building strong, sustainable, and impactful partnerships:
Attracting new partners
Managing partnerships effectively
Retaining existing partnerships
He emphasized that Bungoma County remains a highly promising and conducive environment for development and health partners, offering significant opportunities for collaboration aimed at improving health outcomes and strengthening healthcare systems.
Mr. Nabie further underscored the importance of accountability, transparency, and prudent resource management. He challenged government offices, implementing agencies, and stakeholders to view resources entrusted to the health sector as a sacred responsibility, ensuring they are utilized effectively and for their intended purpose.
He noted that proper stewardship not only maximizes the impact of available resources but also builds confidence among current and prospective partners, creating opportunities for increased investment, stronger collaborations, and sustainable healthcare improvements throughout the county.
His presentation reinforced the need for all stakeholders to work together in creating an environment that attracts new partnerships, nurtures existing collaborations, and ensures that resources entrusted to the health sector deliver meaningful and lasting impact.
Our Commitment to Transforming Lives
The Bungoma County Health and Sanitation Partnership Summit reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, accountability, and shared responsibility in strengthening healthcare systems and improving community health outcomes.
As IcFEM Mission, we remain committed to working alongside the County Government, development partners, healthcare institutions, faith-based organizations, and community stakeholders to strengthen health systems, expand access to quality healthcare services, and transform lives in a manner that glorifies God.
Through meaningful partnerships, responsible stewardship of resources, and a shared commitment to serving our communities, we believe we can continue making a lasting impact and building healthier communities across Bungoma County and beyond.
Together, we can strengthen healthcare, transform lives, and bring hope to the communities we serve.
