BELIEVE Project Introduction

IcFEM Mission (DMH) officially introduced the BELIEVE Project during a high-level strategic meeting with key county government leaders in Bungoma. The BELIEVE Project is designed to reduce the burden of preventable blindness in Kenya by strengthening inclusive and comprehensive eye health service access and delivery in the Western Region. The meeting brought together influential decision-makers and stakeholders—including the Deputy Governor, CEC for Health, directors from finance, health, and gender departments, and representatives from rehabilitation, disability, and eye health networks. Their unified commitment signals strong institutional support for sustainable systems strengthening. With the county government’s collaboration and the involvement of organizations such as the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, and the Disability Empowerment Network, this initiative is well-positioned to deliver lasting impact. The BELIEVE Project represents a vital opportunity for donors to invest in scalable, equity-driven healthcare transformation that places underserved and vulnerable populations at its core.
